My name is Jon Karlsen, and I love to create things and to solve problems.
As a DevOps engineer, I’m comfortable with many languages and technologies. I’ve designed and implemented frontends with React, Angular, and Vue, backends and Lambda functions with C#, Rust, Golang, Python, and Node.js, full-stack web apps with Rails, Remix, and Next.js, cloud infrastructure with CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and Azure DevOps. I’ve also worked extensively with SQL and NoSQL databases and have experience with Docker.
I’m deeply curious and passionate about learning and growing. I’m currently working on learning type with the Colemak-DH layout, learning Korean (while also building an app to help me and others learn), and learning more about the internals of the web and the tools I use every day. I love to read, and most days after work, you’ll find me going out for a run before relaxing with my wife.
